Sellers Comments - Here we have offered for Sale my 1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. This has been tastefully modernised and painted in Ford frozen white and has also been fitted with an RS500 replica front bumper and splitter.

The Engine is a Standard 205 cosworth YB with 0.5 oversized Mahle pistons, Multi layer headgasket with ARP studs and ARP conrod bolts. Brand new bosch 403 grey injectors Turbo technics T34.63 turbo with rose jointed support bracket running a safe 28psi peak boost Level 6 engine ECU with live-mapped chip, all of which was done by Norris Motorsport Rolling road dyno printout proving a rolling road print out showing 363 BHP  and over 400 FT LB of torque. Swedish style inlet manifold, 3 inch stainless turbo back exhaust system with 4 inch tail pipe 3 bar map sensor with Cosworth engraved stainless bracket RS500 Forge style intercooler, Larger alloy radiator, MSD wasted spark system with brand new denso ik27 sparkplugs twin ignition amps and brackets etc. MSD cooling fan loom with separate relays and brand new radiator switch Brand new coolant temp sensors and inlet manifold air temp sensor New engine loom with plug for lambda sensor (option to run closed loop) Aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator with pressure gauge Rewired fuel pump loom from relay in dash to pump under spare wheel well Breather system with stainless catch tank Bailey stainless header tank Samco hoses Group A cone air filter Brand new alternator Transmission Standard gearbox with uprated gearbox mount, ARP flywheel bolts and Alcon 6 paddle clutch Recently replaced standard 7.5 inch rear LSD Suspension Fully adjustable AVO coilovers all round. Brakes Standard Braided flexi brake pipes Interior Standard Dashboard is cracked and the drivers side door cards are tatty Cat 1 Cobra alarm/immobiliser. Exterior Mostly standard Brand new calibre vintage 17x8 BBS RS replica alloy wheels with 5mm spacers and good tyres 100k miles lots of receipts MOT till May 2018 Overall the car is in good condition and runs perfect.

The car does have a couple of blemishes and a few imperfections which could easily be rectified.

Slight bubbling around the sunroof

A scratch on the passenger rear 1/4 not very large

Needs a pair of fog light grills or fog lights

Gearbox is whining I have had this looked at by a mechanic and he recommended that it was the lay shaft bearing. the gearbox whines in 1st 2nd 3rd and 5th only 4th gear is quiet as it should be.

Engine bay could do with a little bit of a tidy up

I’m selling my very original and excellent condition Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 3 door.
  • 57k genuine miles from new

This is a highly original, ex-concours Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 3 door and is a truly special car.

This was a concours car back in the 1990’s and has done little mileage since (as backed up by the extensive Service History and MOT’s).

The car comes with first class paperwork, including the original Ford Service Booklet showing 14 Service Stamps from new.  I have 20 MOT certificates going right back to 1990.  In addition, there are historical photographs of the vehicle along with 2 folders of paperwork, including Ford National Day Concours entries and an old newspaper cut-out of when the car was sold in the 1990’s by the famous Mike Young’s Garage (RS Specialist).  There are also numerous Inspection Reports on this Cosworth carried out at various points in its life along with old tax discs and various receipts for work done over 30+ years.

Features:-
  • It wears 4 original Dunlop SP tyres and has the correct Dunlop D40 spare tyre.
  • The car comes with its 2 original keys.
  • The headlining is not sagging and is in great condition.
  • The dashboard is in top condition with no cracking.
  • The steering wheel and gear knob are in great condition.
  • The seats are immaculate and the bolsters are virtually free from any wear.  
  • All the electrics are in full working order.
  • Vehicle is in excellent overall condition and it goes without saying that there are no warning lights on the dash.

This car is an excellent genuine car and I have pictures of the ‘date stamps’ on various panels that I can show any genuine buyer. In addition, the underside of the vehicle is also in great condition.

As one would expect this car all ‘checks out’ and the chassis number by the seat, on the tag under the bonnet and on the V5 Log Book all are matching and correct.  Further, the car is registered to me at my home address and has just had a full internal and external Detail so it is prepared and ready for its new keeper.

The car is known to the RS Owners Club (RSOC) and was owned/stored in a Ford RS Collection throughout much of the 2000’s. 

The paintwork is original as far as I can possibly tell. Due to the originality, there are a couple of minor blemishes on the paintwork (and I mean minor) and will gladly have these rectified at my expense if the buyer so wishes. I have not done this myself as I want to maintain the complete originality of the vehicle and want any prospective purchaser to see the originality of this car.

There are no 3 door Cosworths currently for sale like this one and few are as genuine so please bear this in mind when making enquiries.

I bought this car with the intention of restoring her to a high standard
But I have a rs turbo that is taken all my time and money !
Plus struggling for storage !

This car was off the road for 17 years
The previous owner was trying to get it of the owner for many years as it was just lying in his garage 
He eventually got the chance to purchase the car
It has only covered 45000 miles
And only has 3 registered owners !
Sadly there was no service history passed on
Got lost over the 17 years car was sitting for !
The previous owner got the car fully painted (excellent job)
Replaced brake pipes
Bushes
Brakes ect
Had to get some welding to floor (33year old ford )
The bodywork on this Sierra is excellent no dents or rust !
He also replaced the interior with Cosworth leather (door panels need couple clips and couple bits of plastic !
He also put freshly powder coated Cosworth wheels with brand new tyres 
Stainless exhaust 
And a petrol tank and fuel lines 
Sump gasket has a leak (I have new gasket)
Fuel gauge not working
